Integrated Music Theory

The prerequisites for achieving fulfilling musicianship are manifold, and certainly part of these is the ability to develop a personal sound conception. Relative solmization is a unique tool for training the sense of inner hearing. This traditional method has been receiving more attention for some time now. It can be used in elementary music education, in choral work, or even in instrumental instruction. The music pedagogue Ulrich Kallmeyer has developed a two-volume textbook for elementary areas of music teaching, music theory, and ear training, using relative solmization from his longtime, solmization-based teaching experience.
