Ensemble playing among friends
Tio, the little keyboard man, is just about to get to know his instrument properly – since his friends with their other instruments would like him to accompany them at the piano! That works, in fact, with the small compositions by Kerstin Strecke, who is already presenting here the fifth volume of her successful Tio series. In Tio and Friends the piano part is kept so easy that piano beginners and recorder students of the same age can gain their first exciting experiences in ensemble playing. Suitable for chamber-music projects, preludes, or music at home, this selection includes very easy little pieces as well as also little challenges – just the right thing for Tio!

Chamber music – right away that sounds quite challenging. While the melody instrument part is usually easy, the piano parts are often too hard for beginners and peers. With this book I’d like to help even the youngest piano students enjoy chamber music. I had the soprano recorder as main instrument in mind when composing, though many pieces can also be played on the alto or tenor recorder.
Tio and Friends is not a book of music lessons – it just wants to tempt you to play. Here you’ll find a colorful mix from easiest little pieces to those with some small challenges.
Tio and Friends can be used for many things – to go along with your lessons, to play in recitals or just to have fun with at home.
The piano part does not have very much fingering, so this can be added as you need it.
Tio wants you to have lots of fun and success in your first adventure playing chamber music!
