In some of Debussy’s compositions we find elements of Spanish music – also in the present “Rêverie”. Because of this affinity, these works fit perfectly into the sound idiom of the guitar. In 1890, the composer sold the “Revêrie”, which he had composed in his younger years, to the publisher Choudens. However, the work had to wait 15 years for its first publication. In the present arrangement for violin and guitar, the original key has been retained.
