Susanne Popp (*1944)
started studying musicology, mathematics and pedagogy at Bonn University in 1963 and obtained her doctorate with “Untersuchungen zu Robert Schumanns Chorwerken” in 1971.
In 1973 she started working for the Max-Reger-Institute on a freelance basis, in 1981 she was appointed head of the institute, at first in Bonn and since 1996 in Karlsruhe. Besides editions of letters, illustrated books and essays on Reger and his œuvre, she published the Verzeichnis der Werke Max Regers und ihrer Quellen in 2010. In 2003 she was appointed honorary professor at the Karlsruhe University of Music; she combines her research activities, at all times in close exchange with interpreters, with the conveyance of music at lecture concerts and exhibitions.
