Whether it's young beginners or piano lovers who want to refresh their skills – no budding pianist will be able to resist the charm of these Catchy Tunes. But watch out! There's a distinct possibility that these tunes might grab your ear and not let go! The 18 pieces truly are "catchy" and even a first run-through will get impatient fingers twitching. The pieces are ideal for all fingers and ears, yet make more than simplistic technical demands on the performers. Stylistically, the anthology – whose level of difficulty ranges from easy to medium – is at home chiefly in the fields of pop, rock, Gospel and jazz, but classical elements are also found throughout. Whoever wants to get a preview of what's to come can find recordings of all the pieces for free downloading here before deciding whether to buy the book or not.

Swinging, lyrical or maybe rockin’? The Catchy Tunes have many faces!
You’ll be able to hear the influences of various stylistic directions, such as pop and rock, as well as gospel and jazz. It goes without saying that fans of classical music will also find their favorite pieces.
I wrote the 18 pieces – from easy to medium difficulty – for my piano students (children, youths and adults) from about their third year of training. Whoever wants to take up the piano again and freshen up their playing skills will also find the appropriate repertoire in this book.
I wanted to offer my students music that would accompany the classical standard repertoire, pieces that would appeal to them and that can be mastered without any unsolvable problems. What was important to me while creating them was that the music should be catchy, musically compelling, and for medium-level piano competency. All the pieces were tried out in piano lessons and the response was most convincing: they were widely enjoyed and quickly mastered.
Above the notes are chordal symbols that are used internationally. They help clarify the harmonic structure and provide inspiration for personal improvisations.
