The Call for Papers for an Eisler Congress in England met with a surprisingly lively response, and the well-attended event at the Institute of Musical Research of the University of London in April 2010 led to a variety of interesting results. The thematic spectrum of the mainly British and German scholars ranged from Eislers short period of exile in the 1930s to the present-day reception and re-interpretation of his works in England through, for example, the rock musician Sting.
All the texts in this volume are published in English with German abstracts.
