The Bagatellen op. 12 were written shortly after Miklós Rózsa’s studies in Leipzig and are dedicated to his piano professor there, Robert Teichmüller. The subtitle “Little Pieces for Play and Dance” comes from the composer himself, but should not be taken too literally. For the six pieces are serious music, in which lyrical and dance elements are mixed. There is much to discover here for professionals and advanced piano learners.
