  • Description

Vont-tér (= gestrichener, gezogener Raum)

I’ve recently composed an entire series of pieces wherein I have developed and tested a whole range of more innovative string material. For years, I have experimented with adapting common contemporary string techniques to my musical language. These techniques must be shaped to go beyond clichés as mere effects of playing glissando, flageolet, saltando, arpeggio, and on the bridge. My violin concerto pushes the string material mentioned to the extreme. There are various other sound possibilities, not only in the solo violin passages but also in the orchestral part itself, always necessarily serving the content and expression.

(Márton Illés, 2019)
