The Leopold Franzens University is my alma mater and I associate an incredible number of wonderful memories with it. Quite a few of them have to do with sounds, and of course I have integrated them into unified. To do this, I processed, twisted and turned these sounds and translated them into my sonic language. unified consists of three movements. In the first movement, Thoughts, the title page of the privileges issued by Emperor Leopold I and confirmed by Pope Innocent XI for the University of Innsbruck is set to music. The second movement, Sounds, is all about the real-life responses of university members to questions about soft, loud, and characteristic sounds that they associate with the University of Innsbruck. The third movement, Brainwaves, is a setting of the second paragraph of Article 26 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (right to education).
unified is a very personal musical declaration of love to my university.
