Description
Respighis Suite No. 3 was written in 1930 at more or less the same time as his famous orchestration of Bach’s Passacaglia in C minor and his set of variations, “Metamorphoseon modi XII”, wich was composed to mark the 50th anniversary of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The Suite received its first performance at Milan’s Conservatorio di Musica in January 1931 under the composer’s own direction.
