Quark II
Concerto for Percussions
[perc,ens] 2014/15 duration: 15' solo: perc – fl.ob.clar – perc(2) – hp – pno – 2vl.va.vc.db
Description
The second piece in my “Qark” cycle – “Quark II” – is a concerto for percussion and ensemble that attempts to poeticize the idea of an invisible energy (an idea, an intuition, a magnetic or electrical force …) that might be the source of certain visible forms.
Like elementary particles, this energy attracts others, creating iterative processes in an infinite quest for exchange, attraction and transformation. It is this almost invisible (inaudible) seed of a primal energy that I’ve tried to set into music by working on tiny, fragile acoustic phenomena.
