“I am, but I do not possess myself, thus we become what we are.” (Ernst Bloch)
Two completely different musical materials – it would be better to speak of two different works – meet each other at the same time. Botanically spoken they are “an organism which is built out of different genetic cells” in accordance with the use of the term “Chimera”. On one hand it is here a profane level for saxophone in a virtuoso-concert manner, on the other hand it is a “sacred” organum of the string orchestra lead by an anonymous hand. An additional part composed on a tape causes the integration of the two completely different materials: “Thus we become what we are.”
