[mix ch,org]
Description
The choir book for the youth choir festival of Pueri Cantores 2023 in Münster offers a diverse selection of choral settings and songs based on the motto of the choir meeting “Give Peace!”. Highlights from the book include the motto song “O Lord, give peace. Da pacem, Domine”, a newly created mass composition as well as other choral music arranged and composed especially for the choir festival. In addition to popular “perennial favorites” for the accompaniment of peace prayers, a wide range of diverse works is included: Peace Songs, English-language choral music, polyphonic song settings, as well as familiar and new spiritual songs.
Most of the compositions are set for four-part mixed choir. The newly composed setting of the Ordinary and the motto song can also be sung by two-part children’s and girls’ choirs with organ accompaniment. Additionally, the diverse compilation of songs and chants offers numerous suggestions and ideas for choral work in the parishes beyond the choir festival.
