The well-known fact that Franz Beyer knows Mozart’s orchestral writing inside and out has endowed the reconstruction of two Mozart arias with an utmost degree of authenticity. While the soprano aria “Der Liebe himmlisches Gefühl” survived only in a piano reduction, at least a few bars of the original score of the tenor “dragon song ” have come down to us, providing a valuable starting point.
