Data Processing Principles

At Breitkopf & Härtel KG, the protection of your personal data is a top priority. In accordance with legal requirements, we would therefore like to inform you about the personal data we collect and how we process it. Please also note our General Terms and Conditions.

We process and store personal data exclusively for the purposes specified in Art. 6(1) GDPR. We treat stored data confidentially and only pass it on to third parties in the cases described below. Data is only stored for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose, but for at least as long as is required by statutory retention periods.

Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data from unauthorized access. For example, we use SSL encryption on our websites. You can identify this encryption by looking for a closed padlock symbol in your browser's status bar and by checking that the address line begins with https://.

Referral to Social Media Websites / Electronic Services of Third Party Providers on our Website

Social Media: Clicking on the respective buttons (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or Podigee) will redirect you to another website. We have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it is used. If you are logged in, the provider can assign your visit to your profile. Please log out beforehand as necessary.

ISSUU: We use ISSUU (Issuu Inc., Palo Alto, USA) to browse works. Privacy Policy: issuu.com/legal/privacy.

nkoda: Links to the nkoda app (nkoda Limited TC Group, London, UK). Privacy Policy: nkoda.com/legal/end-user-agreement.

Podigee: Plugins by Podigee GmbH, Berlin. Privaca Policy: podigee.com/privacy.

Contact us

You can contact us in person, by telephone, fax, email, or via the contact form. To process your request, we will need information such as your name and email address. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. In the case of contract initiation, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; in the case of contract initiation, additionally Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

Recipients of Your Data / Transfer of Data to Third Parties

We process your data for our own business purposes and only transfer it to service providers that we are contractually obligated to use (e.g., hosting, maintenance, shipping, payment, newsletter dispatch, and software maintenance services), if necessary.

Data Transfer to Third Countries

When accessing external digital services (e.g., YouTube, ISSUU), data may be transferred to third countries. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g., SCC).

Cookies

We use cookies to make our website user-friendly, secure, and effective. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; for orders, additionally Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

Newsletter

We offer topic-specific newsletters for ages 16 and up. The basis for this is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Sent via Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH). You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link.

Webshop

You can purchase our products online if you are aged 16 or over. Payment methods: Credit card (Payone), Alipay, PayPal. Payment data is processed directly by the payment service providers.

Tracking and Analysis

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 (provider: Google Ireland Limited). Legal basis: Consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR via our consent tool. Use for analysis, optimization, and reach measurement; IP anonymization active. Storage period: 14 months.

Marketing / Conversion-Tracking

We use Google Ads & Meta Ads (Facebook / Instagram) for conversion tracking and remarketing. Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), revocable via the consent tool.
