Assuming the lead role for an evening and learning three new languages at the same time – that sounds like an incredible promise, which up to now has been fulfilled in every performance of Three imaginary languages, the Concerto for Audience and Orchestra by Italian composer Nicola Campgrande. Campogrande, fascinated by the history of fictional languages, invents no less than three new modes of expression for his concerto (using also candies and kazoos). The concertgoer can learn them right before the performance in order to be ready to become the hero of the upcoming presentation. This appeals to all participants and leaves behind a positive memory of the concert.

Siate protagonisti, per una sera, imparando tre nuove lingue. Benché possa sembrare una promessa esagerata, è ciò che è finora avvenuto ad ogni esecuzione di «Tre linguaggi immaginari», il «Concerto per pubblico e orchestra» del compositore italiano Nicola Campogrande. Affascinato dalla storia delle lingue fittizie, Campogrande ha infatti inventato per il suo brano tre nuovi linguaggi sonori (usando anche caramelle e kazoo). Il pubblico che assiste al concerto ne impara la sintassi, durante una prova prevista subito prima dell’esecuzione, e, così preparato, diventa il vero protagonista della serata. Non può stupire che i partecipanti rispondano entusiasti e ritornino a casa con un meraviglioso ricordo di questa esperienza.
