  • Description

Following on in the tradition of music for wind ensemble [Harmoniemusiken] – such as was earlier composed by Haydn and Mozart – we are supplementing the thin repertoire for this setting with the present arrangement for a defi nitely more ambitious program item. Willi März, well-known arranger of the most diverse settings in the wind-music domain, is supplementing the typical octet scoring (pairs of oboes, clarinets, horns, and bassoons) with a double bass and a non-obbligato harp. The masterly arrangement of one of the best-known works by Johann Strauss will quickly take its place in the repertoire for this scoring.
