„Simple et attrayant – finement illustré et sans surcharge: Tio est un excellent complètement à une première méthode.”
is a musical reader for children that was conceived as a supplement to a piano method. It offers beginners the chance to experiment from the very start with the abilities they have begun to cultivate, and thus to deepen and anchor them. Pupils get to enjoy the wonderful feeling of being able to play the piano a little bit already from the outset of their training.
The book was planned with great care. No matter how elementary the pieces are, they already awaken a first understanding of how musical messages can be vibrantly portrayed. It is exciting for children to become acquainted with a great diversity of musical facets. It may be useful, for example, to understand that not everything has to sound “smooth”, but can sound “terribly off” at times.
I have deliberately omitted fingerings. One can play all the pieces with the thumb on C, although there are also other possibilities; above all, however, I enjoy working out the fingerings together with the children.
Many years of teaching experience have influenced and I have been using it with my students for quite a while already: Tio’s pieces are always played with great delight and curiosity, and that helps young learners take their first steps on the way to mastering the keyboard.
So let Tio be your guide, and have fun with !
