  • Description

Atem Los was written for the festival of the same name which was held in Leipzig in January 1999. The work is dedicated to the interpreters of the world premiere, Michael Svoboda (trombone) and Stefan Hussong (accordion). Both instruments are, albeit in a very different way, breathing instruments. And since the breath of both instruments and performers slowly dwindles during the course of the piece, the "breathers between the fast-paced "strophes become increasingly longer and necessary.
(Steffen Schleiermacher)
