The Sibelius Complete Edition is steadily gaining in status among performing artists. After the two piano reductions published in fall 2003 (Kyllikki op. 41, EB 8140; Piano Sonata op. 12, EB 8142),  since Autumn 2004 the conducting score and study score of the Second Symphony are available (the orchestral material is offered on hire). It is hard to imagine that the most frequently played Sibelius symphony of today triggered aesthetic controversies after its first performances in Finland.
