As in the other Beethoven editions of Clive Brown and Peter Hauschild, the editor has not mechanically adjusted the often highly divergent phrasing and dynamic marks in the sources. They have relegated to the extensive Critical notes all of Beethoven’s own "solo” and "tutti” indications whiche are found solely in this work and which refer to a specific performance, since they cannot claim general validity.
