Deutscher Musikeditionspreis „Best Edition“ 2010
Breitkopf & Härtel is delighted to announce that is has won two "German Music Edition Awards" this year.
In the category "Music Books," which has been consolidated for the first time this year, the publishing house won the German Music Edition Award for Ralf Wehner's Mendelssohn Thematic Catalogue (MWV), which was published in the Mendelssohn anniversary year 2009 as a study edition in the "Leipziger Ausgabe der Werke von Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy."
In the category "School and Educational Literature for Youths," the publisher received the award for "Groovy Strings – Rhythmus & Groove im Streicherunterricht." The concept of "Groovy Strings" was developed by the Ensemble String Thing. Next to the printed volume containing all the pieces, the edition also offers an extra CD featuring further scores as well as video and audio tracks.
