Bachmann, Angelika (*1972)

Angelika Bachmann began to dedicate herself intensively to her violin studies in her earliest youth with teachers such as Roland Greutter (concertmaster of the NDR Symphony Orchestra). She quickly was appearing as a soloist with orchestras such as the Hamburg Symphony at the age of seven. She also won many national-level first prizes at the „Jugend musiziert“ competitions. Since 2001 she has been the first violin of the „Salut Salon“ quartet which has since concertized internationally. Moreover, she founded the Hamburg children’s and youth orchestra „Die coolen Streicher,“ which was awarded the first prize as most innovative music project in Germany at the Frankfurt Music Fair in April 2004. Within the framework of the „Musik bewegt“ project set up by the German Music Council, she has been heading since 2003 a German-Chilean exchange program of the „Coole Streicher“ with the Chilean music school „Escuela popular des artes,“ a program initiated by the „Kindernothilfe e.V.“ In addition to music, Angelika Bachmann also studied German literature and philosophy.
